French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel pledged Friday to work together "very intensively" for the "success" of the European Union after Britain out of it, during a joint press conference at the conclusion of a European summit in Bratislava and missed the United Kingdom.
Merkel said after Hollande presented with a list of priorities set by the 27 countries for the coming months, said that "France and Germany will undertake their role very intensively in the coming months to make all of this success."
For his part, Hollande said that "France and Germany will continue to work so that we can take concrete measures", speaking alongside Merkel during a joint press conference took great symbolic value at a time of crisis, the European Union, particularly after the British decision to leave the Union.
