The Foreign Ministry said in a brief statement, said that the framework agreement or a "protocol agreement is the most important bilateral commitment to provide military assistance in the history of the United States," but did not disclose military aid, which is expected to be a multibillion-dollar value.
The current agreement expires in 2018, and the government of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, calling for a substantial increase in US aid, even if the Israeli press pointed to five billion dollars each year over ten years instead of about three billion at present.
Netanyahu stressed the same on the need to increase US assistance after the start of implementation of the international agreement on the Iranian nuclear program in January.
The US-Israeli talks were held in an atmosphere of apathy that prevails in relations between the Obama administration and the Netanyahu government for years.
The year 2007 agreement, which covered the period between 2009 and 2018 increased US military assistance from 24 to 30 billion dollars.
