On the eve of Tsipras he held talks with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Arkady Dvorkovich, who heads the Russian delegation at the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki.Reporters asked Tsipras what Greece's position on the gas pipeline to supply Russian gas to Europe and whether Greece will negotiate with the European Commission on their own or together with Italy and Austria.
"First of all, I would like to say that our position on this issue has not changed for half a year. Through a multi-vector foreign and energy policy, Greece will be the energy hub, that is, Greece will pass energy pathways of the 21st century. To a large extent we have achieved success in this with TAP (Trans Adriatic pipeline - Ed.), it opens up the southern gas pipeline, the southern direction of natural gas to Europe, and we have stated that the degree of appearance and other gas at our borders, we will welcome them ", - said Tsipras.
"Of course, within the European Union, within the EU and conditions in accordance with the conditions which provide the rules of free competition", - he added.
According to him, there is an understanding with Italy on this matter. It has been signed and an agreement in Rome between "Gazprom", the operator of the Greek DEPA and Italian company pipelines, reminded the Prime Minister.
"We are closely following the discussions and relations between Russia and Turkey, relations are changing - then warm, then cold. We are pleased to have been restored relations (between Moscow and Ankara - Ed.), We want our neighbors had a good relations, not relations of the war ", - said Tsipras.
He stressed that Athens await the outcome of negotiations. "We are watching the development of events and look forward to having a solid line, which is focused on the protection of our national interests, our national interests", - said Tsipras.1
