Turkey announced it was laying off 73 members of the armed forces in the framework rid the army of followers resident exhibitions in America Fethullah Gulen, who is accused by the government of masterminding the coup attempt that took place in July.
The Defense Ministry said in a tweet through the official account on the social networking site "Twitter" on Wednesday, "The expulsion of these individuals have worked to strengthen the army as it gets rid of the followers of Gulen," and as "ABC" American Network reported.
The ministry had announced earlier this month it was laying off 820 members of the army, had already been detained 648 of them.
The estimated number of those who were expelled from the Turkish military since the coup attempt last July by about five thousand people, including 151 from the ranks of General and Admiral.
